The PR team sat down with the vice captain of the team to ask him about the team performance so far and the win against TUKS plus the upcoming Amazulu game on Wednesday. This is what he had to say.
“We did not start well as we had a target of 10-15 points in the first five games. But the morale in the camp is continuously increasing as the new recruits are adapting to the Spurs way. It was always going to be difficult to replace the players who left last season but management alongside the technical team have tried to recruit well and what I’m seeing are players capable of going one step further that the previous groups. After our three previous games where we only collected a point it was always going to be difficult to go to TUKS and get a win. There was pressure going to this game and we stuck to the game plan of letting them start it at the back and catch them on the counter. The plan worked and we managed to record our first win against them in over ten games.
Going to the Amazulu game we need to focus and forget about the previous result. We have not being doing as expected at home but come Wednesday we want to make our supporters and soccer loving people of our region happy. Their support means a lot to us and we promise to go one better come end of the season.
