JOSHUA RODICK SAULS

I was an athlete specialising in 100m and 800m at school. I started playing football only at school from the age of 11 until 15 where I joined Klipspruit Ipswich. I then went on to Eldos All Nations and later joined Sporting FC which was campaigning in the Vodacom League then. At 19 I joined FC AK where we won the Vodacom League nationally and were promoted to the NFD. When FC AK was relegated I went on to continue with my career and played for PSL sides like Chippa United and Platinum Stars and NFD side Garankuwa United. Witbank Spurs signed me after the relegation of Garankuwa United in 2015/2016 season.

Karate was my first sport up until I was asked to add in a team which was short in numbers and played as a defender. I then went on to join Katlehong Peacemakers at 12 as a right back. At 13 I joined New Jack City where I played alongside the likes of Patrick Ningiza {Swallows} and Patrick Thwala {O.Pirates}. At 15 I joined Ireland FC in Nongoma. I then proceeded to play for Nomvete FC and later joined African Wanderers which were campaigning in the Vodacom League. My first pro contract was with Nathi Lions but I didn’t play even a single game. I was then recruited during the trials of Witbank Spurs in Newcastle in 2009.In 2011 I signed for Orlando Pirates and then moved to Thanda, Chippa and Polokwane City.
